The Warrior Passage Program will have its graduation, or knighting, ceremony on Saturday, May 7 at 10 a.m. in the Dinner Theater at the Dream Center. All boys should be at the Dream Center by 9:30 a.m. sharp.
For the graduation ceremony, boys should wear their Warrior Passage T-shirt, dark slacks and dress shoes. If your boy does not have a Warrior Passage T-shirt, please wear a white dress shirt if possible. Mentors should wear their red polo Warrior Passage shirt (a white shirt if you don't have the polo shirt), dark slacks and dress shoes.
>Following graduation, we will take the boys to the Men and Boys Outing at the YMCA's Camp Kanata for fun activities. The boys should prepare to change clothes between graduation and going to the camp. Mentoring programs from across the Raleigh area will be at the outing. There is no cost to go on the trip. We plan to return to the Dream Center by 6 p.m.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If your boy is going on the trip to Camp Kanata, please email John Boyette at johnboyjr@bellsouth.net; we need a count on the number of boys who are going with us.
>Congratulations to three of our Warriors for being baptized on Resurrection (Easter) Sunday. They are Zachary and Joshua Dobbin and Matthew Davis.
>The last tutoring session for boys needing help with school work will be held on this Tuesday (May 3)from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. at the Body of Christ Church building (not the Dream Center). All boys are welcome. Please take advantage of this service if your boy is having difficulty in school.
Speaking on behalf of all the mentors, it has been a pleasure working with all the boys this year. We've all had a wonderful time and we're looking forward to the 2011-12 session that begins in September. If you know of any boys ages 10-14 who would benefit from being in Warrior Passage, tell them about the program and we will get an application form to them and their parents. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Warrior Passage co-leaders John Boyette, 844-6920 or johnboyjr@bellsouth.net; or Bruce Bean, 606-6988 or brucbn785@aol.com.
